EATING LOCAL

tuna salad 2.jpg

Cornwall is home to some of the best restaurants in the country. Both casual and fine dining are within easy reach of Tresillian House.

Our favourite places to eat in and around Newquay:

The Fish House Fistral
Owner operated small restaurant, 6 people max. Great location looking out on Fistral beach.

Tartan Fox Pub

Just a six minute drive away. It’s under the Adam Handling umbrella and is quite fancy but the foods good, its not really a pub, more a restaurant.

Headland Hotel

Newley renovated, three restaurants so something for everyone. Gorse bakery at 7-8 Lanteague  Very lucky to have this one on our doorstep, amazing bread, pastries, coffee and lunch. They won best bakery in Cornwall.

Further afield, why not make a day of it and incorporate lunch or dinner
into your day out.

Argoenewlyn (36 miles)

New restaurant, another owner operated venue which shows on the plate and service. Odd location but if it's amazing food you're after this is at the top of our list.

The Rocketstore (25 miles)

Tiny fish restaurant with a few tables outside, the owner's father is a fisherman so he brings in the freshest fish...... it's a cracker.

Coombeshead Farm (30 miles)

Quite literally farm to table, flawless in our opinion. They have a few rooms, make outstanding sourdough and other provisions.

Port Gaverne Hotel (24 miles)

Great pub, great location, great food.

St Kewinn (20 miles)

15th century inn, lovely setting. Cooking over fire is the thing here, top notch it is too.

Dutchygrub (17 miles)

Owner operated; small sharing plates make up the menu. Odd location but the food makes up for it.

Gurnardshead (37 miles)

One of the benchmarks in the gastro pub world. Stunning food, if you go do venture down to the coast it's breathtaking.
